Avec le développement de l’informatique, un nouveau phénomène quelque peu déroutant à vu le jour : La Convergence Numérique.
Sous ce nom figure le phénomène où le média et son support modifient les habitudes de consommation et change la donne dans l’organisation de choses. L’exemple le plus flagrand reste la musique, en fichier numérique MP3, qui à permis à Apple, une société fabriquant des micro-ordinateurs, de sortir la tête de l’eau et de devenir une société très influente (la moitié de son chriffre d’affaire est aujourd’hui réalisé avec le vente d’iPod et de musique via iTunes).
Ainsi nait au sein de certains l’idée de faire un “Media Center“.Une sorte de machine qui serait capable de regrouper tout les médias que nous pouvons utiliser.
Beaucoup d’entreprises ont tenté leur chance dans cette aventure sans jamais vraiment réussir à concevoir LE produit adulé par tout les consomateurs comme pu l’être l’iPod.
Si certains d’entre vous sont curieux et bidouilleur, nous pourrions essayer de réaliser nous, à notre échelle un Media Center qui pourrait trônner dans notre salon et être le centre de notre univers de loisirs.
